An End and a Beginning

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!    2Cor 5:17

On Thursday May 12th, I coached my last game at Wesleyan School.  Although it did not end the way we hoped, it was a beautiful day for baseball.  I have been blessed to be the head coach at Wesleyan for 8 great years.  The coaches, players and parents have made my time here amazing.  I will never forget the memories. So often in life we leave places because we do not want to be there anymore.  That is not the case here.  I loved waking up every morning and heading off to school at 5405 Spalding drive.

The early exit in the baseball state tournament, although sad, has been a blessing for my family.  We have so much to do with so little time.  I cannot believe that we are two weeks away from going to Massachusetts for vacation and a little over a month from taking the flight to Santo Domingo.  It has all gone so fast.

The Shaheen family is doing well.  God is good.  He has blessed us with wonderful friends and family that have supported us in every way.  8 months ago we announced to our community that we would be leaving and starting a ministry in the DR.  Since then, we have had so many "God moments" that have made things so clear that He wants us in the Dominican at the end of June.  God has strengthened our family and has provided all that we need.  It would blow you away at how many people have sent emails, letters or phone calls our way with prayers and well wishes.  I never imagined that so many people would be inspired by our move and would be influenced to do something with their family.  Our hope is that this ministry will bless many in the US, the DR and beyond.

JESUS!  Name above all names.  My Savior.

Here is our schedule for the next month:

We love all of you and hope that we get to spend time with you before we leave.  Please consider visiting us in the DR sometime over the next few years.  You are officially invited!

In His grip,
Mike
